Associate Registrar for Graduation & Degree Audit

Morningside University is accepting applications for the full-time position of Associate Registrar for Graduation & Degree Audit. This position audits students’ files for progress toward graduation and verifies graduation eligibility as well as works individually with students to monitor progress toward graduation. Processes repeated grades and calculates new grade point averages and assists with pre-population of courses for summer enrollment days.

Responsibilities:
  • Audits the files for all students with earned hours each semester and provides students and faculty advisors with updated progress charts.
  • Audits the files of prospective graduates to verify graduation eligibility – working individually with prospective graduates throughout their final year and obtaining preliminary grades.
  • Updates graduation information in AIMS and Degree Progress. Process Course Substitutions in Degree Progress as well.
  • Responds to questions from students regarding degree completion.
  • Disseminates graduation reports to various offices on campus on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for ordering graduation & replacement diplomas for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Assists with graduation.
  • Clears graduates—determines graduation honors, sends letter and complimentary transcript.
  • Works with students during the spring semester of their junior year to discuss graduation date, anticipated degree, majors, minors, and their progress towards graduation.
  • Assists with various duties in the Registrar’s Office—student registration, add/drop forms, answer phones, assist walk-in customers, respond to student, faculty, staff, and alumni requests for information.
  • Assist in the pre-population process of entering courses for incoming freshmen.
  • Service as School Certifying Official for Department of Veteran Affairs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; experience in higher education preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Effective time management skills, must meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills
