Morningside College has reported the largest total enrollment in the school’s 120-year history with 2,824 full- and part-time students for the fall 2014 semester.

Total enrollment for the fall includes 1,280 full-time undergraduate students. The college enrolled 429 new full-time students for the fall 2014 semester.

According to Morningside College President John Reynders, this fall’s total enrollment surpasses the previous enrollment record of 2,542 full- and part-time students in the fall of 2013.

“Achieving this new enrollment milestone at Morningside comes after receiving more than 4,000 freshman applications for the fall semester, the largest number of applications Morningside has ever received,” Reynders said.

Earlier this month, The Chronicle of Higher Education’s 27th annual “Almanac of Higher Education” ranked Morningside in seventh place on a list of the nation’s 20 fastest growing private baccalaureate institutions.
