Morningside is home to many different festivals and workshops that offer young, aspiring students to learn from those who study, teach, and perform. Vocal and instrumental festivals allow students the chance to participate in clinics and performances that offer important teachings for mastering the craft.

Morningside Jazz Festival
Jazz and jazz education have long been a hallmark of the music program at Morningside and we pride ourselves on being a regional resource for students and directors alike.
Iowa All-State Choral Camp
This annual All-State Choral Camp provides an outstanding atmosphere for learning the Iowa All-State repertoire.
Middle School Jazz Day
Middle School Jazz Day at Morningside offers young and developing jazz musicians the opportunity to perform, listen, and learn in a positive and educational setting. Middle schools and junior high schools
Vocal Arts Festival
The purpose of this FREE musical experience is different from most festivals as it focuses equally on solo vocal technique, choral performance, and collaboration with a prominent composer.
All-State Instrumental Clinic
Elevate your Iowa All-State Band and Orchestra aspirations with personalized coaching by the faculty of the Morningside School of Visual and Performing Arts in dynamic one-on-one and small group settings.
Morningside Honor Band
Midwest high school musicians are invited to participate in the 2024 High School Honor Band at Morningside University in Sioux City, IA. The festival brings together high school instrumentalists from all over the region.
CATALYST COLLECTIVE
Every summer for two weeks, Morningside becomes home to some of the most gifted and brightest students in the midwest. High schoolers and Middle schoolers convene on our campus to take classes, learn from professionals, and create what Heath Weber has termed “camaraderie and likemindedness” with their camp people.

The Morningside University School of Visual and Performing Arts provides immersive opportunities for Morningside students and the Siouxland community to experience the power of music and the fine arts. All Morningside students, regardless of major, can audition and perform in ensembles and productions.
