Teacher Intern Program
The Teacher Intern Program is an alternative teacher preparation program that prepares candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree in an endorsable content area to be teachers in Iowa’s high schools. If you have any questions, please contact the Sharon Walker School of Education 712-274-5375.
Special Education Certification Only Program
The Special Education program is an Iowa-only licensure teacher preparation program for non-teachers. It prepares candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree in an area outside of education to be teachers for students with severe behavior disorders and learning disabilities, or for students with severe intellectual disabilities, in Iowa’s elementary, middle, and high schools. This is a state-approved program that leads to state licensure. Completion of the program allows you to apply for teaching jobs in the state of Iowa.
