Credit Requirements

Work is completed in two parts. Candidates must complete 17 credits of professional foundations core and at least 15 credits in the field of STEM education which may include Morningside’s nine credits of STEM foundations and coursework in computer science, mathematics, and science.

Candidates may transfer up to three credits from another institution or up to three credits from an educational partner as long as the content of the credit aligns with the focus area.

Darla Gerlach, STEM Education Adjunct Instructor

Darla has instructed at Morningside since 2018 and brings her firsthand classroom expertise and experience to her work. She currently serves as a teacher, teaching fifth through eighth grade, which she has been doing since 1993.
Darla has an Ed.D. in instruction and learning.
