THE MORNINGSIDE DIFFERENCE

Internships

You will have the opportunity to participate in an internship or immersive externship where you can receive up to 12 credits for paid professional training and experience in a marketing work environment.

Travel

You will have the opportunity to travel regionally, nationally, and even internationally for professional conferences, industry field trips, or May Term courses. Travel grants and special scholarship eligibility may be available.

Research & Active Learning

Conduct research alongside faculty members, giving you an advantage for graduate school or immediate entry into your career field. You may also have the opportunity to present findings at the Morningside University Palmer Research Symposium, the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP), or at regional and national industry events.

FEATURED COURSES

REQUIRED

Students learn website construction and other interactive formats with emphasis on the need for planning and design strategies. Previous programming knowledge and/or CSCI 160 are recommended.

REQUIRED

Students will study business activities related to the product, price, promotion and distribution of goods and services to create, deliver, capture and communicate value to the customer. Students will carry out an individual marketing research project utilizing primary and secondary sources and present an interactive final group industry report.

REQUIRED

Students enrolled in this course will have the opportunity to participate in the study of the economic significance of advertising, the various media employed in advertising, and the components of an advertising campaign. Students will gain insight into the role of advertising in the overall business process and how advertising contributes to sales, revenues and profits.

REQUIRED

This course provides students the opportunity to create a comprehensive marketing campaign for a client utilizing traditional and digital marketing communications. Students will analyze client and customer needs, develop marketing materials, and pitch their plan to the client.
