Morningside University Breaks Ground for the New Business Building
Sioux City, Iowa—Morningside University hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for Honeck Freymann Hall, the future home of the Rosen School of Business. The event marked a major step in the university’s ongoing investment in academic excellence and campus growth, creating a modern space designed to support students, strengthen business education, and serve the wider community.
The new building reflects Morningside University’s commitment to preparing students for success in a fast-changing business landscape. Planned as a hub for learning, collaboration, and innovation, the facility is expected to provide updated classrooms, flexible meeting spaces, and resources that support hands-on learning, professional development, and business innovation.
The groundbreaking ceremony is expected to bring together university leadership, faculty, students, alumni, donors, community members, and business partners to celebrate the start of construction. Notable attendees and speakers will include President Chad Benson, Dr. Thomas Paulsen, Interim Dean of the School of Business, and donor Tom Rosen.
“This building gives our students the space to learn alongside local businesses and organizations, gaining real experience that prepares them for meaningful careers,” said President Chad Benson. “It is an investment in our students and in the future of Siouxland. When our students succeed, our community succeeds with them.”
This development also underscores the university’s role as a community partner in Sioux City and the surrounding region.
