ALLEE GYMNASIUM
The George M. Allee Gymnasium, now the heart of the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center, has been a cornerstone of Morningside University athletics since 1949. For over 75 years, it has united generations of athletes, fans, and Sioux City families, hosting unforgettable moments under the maroon-and-white banner.

CELEBRATING THE LEGACY
Named for George M. Allee, the gym debuted as a hub for basketball, volleyball, commencements, and community events. From the Maroons to the Chiefs to the Mustangs, it has witnessed legendary North Central Conference teams, record-breaking performances, and championship triumphs. Women’s basketball and dance rose to national prominence with multiple NAIA titles, while records have been shattered across various sports.

BUILDING THE FUTURE
Renovations in the 1990s and 2000s modernized the space, but Allee’s intimate, 2,500-seat core remains a fortress of pride and perseverance. While the floor and bleachers date back to the 1990s, we need your help to improve them. Upcoming projects include further upgrades to enhance the student and fan experience, such as state-of-the-art lighting and video boards. These improvements will not only enhance game-day excitement but also strengthen recruiting opportunities by showcasing a premier facility that reflects the pride and legacy of Morningside athletics. A bridge across eras, Allee Gymnasium stands as a timeless treasure, honoring the athletes, coaches, and fans who built its enduring legacy.
