WELCOME TO THE MORNINGSIDE PEER MENTORS PROGRAM

EMPOWERING YOUR ACADEMIC JOURNEY

At Morningside University, we believe in providing every student with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive from day one. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the Morningside University Peer Mentors Program—an initiative designed to make your transition to university life seamless, engaging, and enriching.

Starting in the 2024-2025 academic year, every new first-time, full-time undergraduate student will be paired with a peer mentor.  These mentors are upperclassmen who have been where you are and have successfully navigated the challenges and opportunities of university life.

PEER MENTORS CAN HELP YOU…

The Morningside University Peer Mentors Program is more than just part of your orientation—it’s a stepping stone to a successful and fulfilling college experience. By fostering meaningful connections and providing personalized support, we aim to ensure that every student not only feels welcomed but also empowered to achieve their full potential.

Connect with Faculty

Your mentor can help you bridge the gap between you and your professors or academic advisors, making it easier to seek guidance and support.

Locate Resources on Campus

Whether you’re looking for academic support, health services, or student clubs, your mentor knows how to point you in the right direction.

Find Your Community

Your mentor can help you find activities that match your interests and goals or can simply invite you along to events where you can meet other Morningsiders.

Programming Tailored to You

As a mentee, you will have access to programs that are specifically for first-year students based on the feedback you give us about things you want or need as you begin your Morningside journey.

Navigate University Life

Everything from understanding your schedule to finding the best study spots on campus, your mentor is there to help you adjust.

“Being a peer mentor has given me the opportunity to connect with first-year students at Morningside from different parts of the world. I enjoy guiding them through their first year while being able to introduce them to everything that our campus has to offer!”
