Read the Weekly COVID-19 Update from September 7, 2020.

The COVID-19 dashboard was launched last week and will be updated again tomorrow morning.

Based on current data, we are continuing to see cases and everyone needs to remain vigilant. Tomorrow, we will be opening our on-campus Test Iowa site at the Alumni House. Going forward, the testing center will be open Monday-Friday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. An email will be arriving in your inbox tomorrow morning with directions for scheduling a test. This information will also be shared on the COVID-19 page and Morningside’s social media channels. As a reminder, this is a free service available exclusively to Morningside undergraduate students, faculty, and staff.

OPERATING LEVEL

Morningside College’s overall operating level remains at YELLOW. You can see more about Morningside’s Operation Guidelines and our response to COVID-19 here.

LOCAL COVID-19 DATA

Hospitalization rates and active cases of COVID-19 have seen an uptick in Woodbury County. See the latest trends report from Siouxland District Health here. It’s worth noting that the second paragraph of this report notes that most of the positive cases are stemming from activities happening OUTSIDE of school and work settings. PLEASE refrain from gathering in large groups and be smart during your free time and while off-campus.

IF YOU ARE ILL, SYMPTOMATIC, OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19

Please stay in your residence hall room or home. Should you need medical attention or assistance, please contact Campus Nurse Judi Neswick at 712-274-5178.

Be well,
Spicer
