The Siouxland Master Chorale will have its first rehearsal of the year at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in Room 100 of the MacCollin Classroom Building, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the Morningside College campus. Interested vocalists are welcome to attend.

The Siouxland Master Chorale will have its first rehearsal of the year at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in Room 100 of the MacCollin Classroom Building, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the Morningside College campus. Interested vocalists are welcome to attend.

The Siouxland Master Chorale is for adults throughout the Siouxland area and Morningside College students. It rehearses from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and performs regularly in concert. Its first performance will be at Morningside College at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

The Siouxland Master Chorale is directed by Tim Watson and Jean Hickman.

Watson is an assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Morningside College. He received his bachelor’s degree in music education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and his Master of Music degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Before coming to Morningside College in 2003, he served as the vocal music instructor and director of music for the Le Mars Community Schools in Le Mars, Iowa.

Hickman is an assistant professor of music education at Morningside College. She has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Morningside College and a Master of Music degree from the University of South Dakota. She recently returned to Siouxland after completing coursework for a Ph.D. at the University of Florida.
