Morningside College students Samuel Padilla, a sophomore from Ibagué, Colombia, and Luke Peterson, a senior from Fairmont, Minn., will attend the United Nations Youth Assembly Feb. 14-16 at UN headquarters in New York City.

The Friendship Ambassadors Foundation selected the two Morningside students to join 1,000 other young leaders, social entrepreneurs and advocates from over 100 countries for the three-day session to tackle the world’s most pressing issues along with experts and leaders from around the world.

Organized around the theme “Innovation and Collaboration for a Sustainable World,” the Youth Assembly will give delegates the opportunity to explore topics related to water and sanitation, clean energy, urban development, green consumption and production, and biodiversity.

The Youth Assembly is a project of Friendship Ambassadors Foundation, a non-profit organization associated with the UN Department of Public of Information.
