Through a partnership between Western Iowa Tech Community College and Morningside College, diversity speaker Jane Elliott will present her lecture “Power, Perception and Prejudice” on Oct. 17 from 6–9 p.m.

Jane Elliott is an American former third-grade schoolteacher, anti-racism activist, and educator, as well as a feminist.  She is best known for her “Blue eyes–Brown eyes” exercise she developed after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968 to teach her students about racial prejudice.

The presentation will take place in the Yockey Family Community Room located in the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Ave., on the Morningside College campus. The event is free and open to the public.
