Jessica Tietz was named to the College Division Academic All-District 3 Women’s Basketball Team.

Jessica Tietz, a 6-2 senior forward from Bancroft, Neb., has been named to the College Division Academic All-District 3 Women’s Basketball Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As an all-district selection, Tietz will go on the national ballot for selection of the 2016 College Division Academic All-America Women’s Basketball Team.

Tietz has a 3.64 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in biology.

Tietz is the top scorer and rebounder with averages of 15.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for a Morningside team that has a 25-2 record and is ranked second in the nation in the NAIA Division II. The reigning NAIA II National Champion Mustangs have already wrapped up this year’s Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) championship with a 17-2 record for a five-game lead in the league standings with three games remaining.

Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
