Three Mustangs on academic all-district team
Morningside placed three players on the College Division Academic All-District 3 Men’s Soccer Team.
Tim Erdmann, Tom Karshuening, and Paul Quildies were named to the 2016 College Division Academic All-District 3 Men’s Soccer Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Their names will go on the national ballot for selection of the 2016 College Division Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Team.
Erdmann, a sophomore goal keeper from Hamburg, Germany, has a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with majors in business administration and international affairs. Erdmann has an 11-4-1 record with two shutouts, 73 saves, and a goals against average of 1.56 goals per game.
Karshuening, a sophomore midfielder from Satrup, Germany, has a 3.87 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration. Karshuening is the Mustangs’ second leading scorer with eight goals and six assists for 22 points.
Quildies, a sophomore defender from Essen, Germany, has a perfect 4.00 GPA with a major in business administration. Quildies has scored two goals and one assist for five points and his defensive exploits have helped the Mustangs limit their opposition to averages of 1.56 goals and 10.3 shots per game.
Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
