Thomas named GPAC Offensive Player of the Week
Devin Thomas has been named the GPAC Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Devin Thomas, a 5-10, 190 lb. senior wide receiver from Council Bluffs, Iowa, has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in the Mustangs’ 83-19 victory against Nebraska Wesleyan University last Saturday in Lincoln, Neb.
Thomas had a career-high nine pass receptions that went for 166 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. He caught touchdown passes of 39, 43, and 39 yards to help the Mustangs amass a school-record 729 yards total offense.
Morningside’s 83 points was its highest scoring output since a 112-0 victory against Dakota Wesleyan during the 1916 season.
Morningside, ranked No. 2 in the nation in the first regular season NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, will host Dordt College to a 7 p.m. kickoff this Saturday at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
