Thirteen members of the Mustangs’ track & field team have been named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Thirteen athletes from Morningside College’s men’s and women’s track & field teams have been named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The Mustangs’ Daktronics-NAIA Track & Field Scholar-Athletes are:

McKayla Arlt, a junior from Oakland, Neb., who has a 3.62 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in biology teaching.

Cassie Burnside, a senior from Fremont, Neb., who has a 3.57 cumulative GPA with a major in mass communication.

Caitlin Casey, a senior from Emerson, Neb., who has a 3.74 cumulative GPA with majors in mass communication and graphic design.

Andrew Christen, a junior from Anselmo, Neb., who has a 3.57 cumulative GPA with a major in mathematics teaching.

Garret Ehlers, a senior from Ida Grove, Iowa, who has a 3.66 cumulative GPA with a major in religious studies.

Kyle Kinney, a junior from Sioux City, who has a 3.90 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Eric Koithan, a junior from Mapleton, Iowa, who has a 3.79 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.

Taylor Kube, a senior from Croton, Neb., who has a 3.63 cumulative GPA with a major in engineering physics.

Preston Nibaur, a senior from Austin, Minn., who has a 3.61 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Jennifer Petsche, a sophomore from Onawa, Iowa, who has a 3.92 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Ariel Turnquist, a senior from Alta, Iowa, who has a 3.87 cumulative GPA with a major in music education.

Ethan Van Briesen, a junior from George, Iowa, who has a 3.61 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.

Jay Welp, a junior from Marcus, Iowa, who has a 3.71 cumulative GPA with a major in unified science teaching.

Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
