The Mustangs’ men’s and women’s swimming teams received Scholar All-America distinction from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America.

Morningside’s men’s and women’s swimming teams were named Scholar All-America Teams by College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their academic work during the 2017 spring semester.

The Morningside women’s team had a combined grade point average (GPA) of 3.44 and the men’s team had a combined GPA of 3.24.

“Coach Bryan Farris has done an exceptional job at Morningside,” said CSCAA executive director Joel Shinofield. “We are very fortunate to have schools like Morningside and people like President John Reynders and Director of Athletics Tim Jager who support these exceptional student-athletes.”

The CSCAA designates teams with combined GPAs of 3.00 and higher as Scholar All-America Teams.

For the first time in the 95-year history of the CSCAA, more than 700 teams received Scholar All-America recognition. In total, 720 teams representing 443 institutions at all levels of collegiate swimming achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester.
