Sioux City, Iowa—Morningside University is proud to announce the grand opening of its newly renovated Radiologic Technology labs. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on the St. Luke’s College Morningside University campus to celebrate this significant advancement for health care education in the Siouxland region.

The event will mark a major milestone in the university’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art training for future health care professionals. The upgraded labs feature advanced imaging equipment and technology, offering students an immersive, hands-on learning environment that mirrors real-world clinical settings. This investment ensures graduates are exceptionally prepared to meet the evolving demands of the health care industry.

“In health care education, bridging the gap between the classroom and the clinic is essential. The advanced imaging equipment in these new labs allows our students to train in an environment that mirrors the reality of modern hospitals,” said Dr. Jackie Barber, Dean of the Nylen School of Nursing and Health Sciences at St. Luke’s College and Morningside University. “This level of hands-on preparation ensures they are not just ready to graduate, but ready to lead and excel from day one in their careers.”

Attendees had the opportunity to see the new facilities firsthand. Students from the Radiologic Technology program conducted live demonstrations, showcasing their skills and the new equipment’s capabilities. Additionally, Interim President Chad Benson delivered remarks, sharing updates and discussing the importance of this development for the institution and the broader community.

“By investing in top-tier technology, we are ensuring that our institution remains a leader in allied health education, empowering our students to serve our region with the highest level of skill and confidence,” said Interim President Chad Benson.

The ceremony celebrates not only the new labs but also the college’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting the local health care workforce. This project reinforces St. Luke’s and Morningside’s leadership in allied health education and its mission to train the next generation of skilled radiologic technologists.
