Three members of Morningside College’s competitive dance team were named 2018 NAIA All-Americans for their performances in last Friday’s All-America tryouts at the NAIA Northwest Qualifying Group Tournament in Sioux City.

The Mustangs’ NAIA Competitive Dance All-Americans are Kayla Inlay, a junior from Sioux City; Miranda Shipley, a junior from Des Moines, Iowa; and Jenna Winkler, a sophomore from Papillion, Neb. All three were NAIA honorable mention All-Americans last season.

Morningside’s Jessica Bennett, a senior from Sioux City; Nicole Hahn, a senior from Sioux City; and Danielle Plathe, a freshman from Algona, Iowa, all received NAIA honorable mention All-America recognition this year.

To achieve NAIA All-America or honorable mention status, student-athletes participate in a try-out, where they are judged and All-Americans are determined by the judges’ scores.

Morningside’s competitive dance team will compete in the 2018 NAIA Competitive Cheer & Dance National Championships on March 9 and 10 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
