Seven Morningside athletes were named to the Capital One College Division Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams.

Seven Morningside College athletes were named to the 2015 Capital One College Division Academic All-District 3 Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Their names will go on the ballot for selection of the 2015 Capital One College Division Academic All-America At-Large Teams.

The Mustangs’ academic all-district at-large selections are:

Megan Carlson, a sophomore women’s tennis player from Cherokee, Iowa. Carlson has a 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with majors in biology and chemistry.

Hannah Hecht, a senior women’s swimmer from Lansing, Kan. Hecht has a 3.97 cumulative GPA with a major in English.

Josh Karel, a senior men’s swimmer from Lincoln, Neb. Karel has a 3.97 cumulative GPA with a major in Spanish teaching.

Taylor McCloskey, a senior men’s swimmer from Runnells, Iowa. McCloskey has a 3.62 cumulative GPA with a major in biology.

Alex O’Neill, a senior men’s golfer from Ponca, Neb. O’Neill has a 3.56 cumulative GPA with majors in business administration and political science.

Alex Struck, a senior men’s tennis player from Cherokee, Iowa. Struck has a 3.85 cumulative GPA with a major in English teaching.

Audri Swisher, a senior women’s tennis player from Spearfish, S.D. Swisher has a 4.00 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for Capital One Academic All-America honors.
