David Biello, the science curator for TED Talks, will come to Morningside College virtually to give an interactive lecture on “The Future of Agriculture” at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.

Biello is an award-winning journalist who reports on energy and the environment. Before becoming the science curator for TED, a media organization that posts talks online for free distribution under the slogan "ideas worth spreading,” he was environment and energy editor at Scientific American, where’s he been a contributor since 2005. Biello hosts the podcast “60-Second Earth” for Scientific American and the documentaries “Beyond the Light Switch” and “The Ethanol Effect” for PBS. He is also the author of the book “The Unnatural World: The Race to Remake Civilization in Earth’s Newest Age.”

The event is part of Morningside’s Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center Virtual Lecture Series. The college broadcasts the lectures on campus, and the audience is able to ask questions and interact with the speakers.
