Paul Quildies was named the GPAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after he helped the Mustangs open the season with three straight victories.
Paul Quildies, a freshman defender from Essen, Germany, has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his performances during the week of Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.
Quildies’ defensive exploits helped Morningside go 3-0 for the week for its first 3-0 start in school history. The Mustangs defeated Waldorf College 2-1, Presentation College 5-0, and Mount Marty College 13-0.
Morningside limited its opposition to only one goal and 17 shots in the three victories, including only three shots in its 5-0 shutout of Presentation.
