Professor presents at writing center conference
David Elder, associate professor of writing and rhetoric and director of the writing center at Morningside College, recently presented at the annual International Writing Centers Association conference in Denver.
David Elder, associate professor of writing and rhetoric and director of the writing center at Morningside College, recently presented at the annual International Writing Centers Association conference in Denver.
For his presentation, Elder researched whether online graduate students at Morningside receive the same kind of support and quality feedback as undergraduates. Elder’s research will improve training for writing consultants on how to more effectively comment on writing in an online format.
The International Writing Centers Association facilitates development of writing center directors, tutors and staff by sponsoring meetings, publications and other professional activities.
Elder has been on the Morningside faculty since 2010. He received a Walker Faculty Excellence Award from the college in 2012. He has a doctorate from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
