Jean Hickman, assistant professor of music education at Morningside College, recently gave two presentations at the Hawaii Music Educators Association In-Service Conference at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu.

Jean Hickman, assistant professor of music education at Morningside College, recently gave two presentations at the Hawaii Music Educators Association In-Service Conference at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu.

Her presentations were “Creative Assessment for Performing Ensembles” and “I Can Get It for You Wholesale: Free (or Nearly Free) Apps and Programs for Music Educators.” This was her second time presenting at the conference, which draws educators from around the country and from Asia.

Hickman joined the Morningside College faculty this fall after most recently directing choirs at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She is completing a doctorate in music education and choral conducting from the University of Florida. She has received educator awards from Morningside College, the Sioux City Community Schools and the University of Iowa.
