A Morningside College professor and two students recently presented at the National Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) Leadership Workshop in Washington, D.C.
ALD is a national honor society that promotes and recognizes academic excellence in the first year of college and provides training for sophomore members in leadership, service and communication at its annual leadership workshops.
Marty Knepper, professor of English and Morningside chapter advisor, and student Jaclyn Arens of Yankton, S.D., chapter president, co-facilitated a session on how to run successful meetings. They were assisted by student Maddie Dotzler of Omaha, Neb., chapter vice president.
Also at the workshop, Morningside’s chapter was recognized for winning an outstanding chapter award and a recruiting award. Knepper was recognized as one of the five Executive Director’s Outstanding Advisors of the Year.
Alpha Lambda Delta has chapters at over 270 colleges and universities in the United States.
