Mary Zink, visiting instructor of business at Morningside College, will offer a workshop on improving employee productivity from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in the UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.

The workshop is for professionals who want to improve employee productivity through their own leadership. It is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Participants are asked to RSVP by 5 p.m. on Monday, February 3, to zinkm@morningside.edu.

The workshop will cover the basics of situational leadership, where managers adapt their leadership style to the task and traits of their employees. Participants will work in groups to apply the theory to real leadership dilemmas. Following the workshop, participants will attempt to apply the theory to situations they actually confront in the workplace.

The event is sponsored by Morningside College and Siouxland Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Zink has an MBA from Regis University in Denver, Colo., and she has earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She has more than 20 years of experience working, consulting and managing in the private and nonprofit sectors. She currently serves on the board of the Siouxland SHRM.
