Morningside College’s football program was recognized on the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, released Monday, Oct. 22, for Oct. 15-21.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside College’s football program was recognized on the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, released Monday, Oct. 22, for Oct. 15-21.

Sophomore running back Arnijae “AP” Ponder (Omaha, Neb.) was tabbed the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player of the Week. Ponder played a critical role in aiding the top-ranked Mustangs’ 42-34 win over No. 3-ranked Northwestern College Oct. 20. He turned in a single-game career personal best 134 yards rushing and a touchdown, and AP also picked up 30 yards and a fourth down conversion over the final 4:50 to help run out the clock, as the Mustangs moved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the GPAC.
