Heather Reid, professor of philosophy at Morningside College, recently had both a book chapter and a book review published, and she performed article and book reviews for journals and an academic publisher.

Her chapter “Olympism: A Philosophy of Sport?” appeared in the book “Routledge Handbook of the Philosophy of Sport” that was published by Routledge, and her book review of “The Bloomsbury Companion to the Philosophy of Sport” was published in the journal Sport, Ethics and Philosophy.

She also  performed article reviews for the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport and History of Philosophy Quarterly, and she reviewed a book manuscript on the subject of ancient philosophy for Routledge.

Reid is a specialist in ancient philosophy and the philosophy of sport. She has published six books related to sports philosophy and the Olympics. She is currently completing the National Endowment for the Humanities/Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. A member of the Morningside faculty since 1996, she received her doctorate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
