Morningside is headed to the 2017 NAIA Volleyball National Championship with the host bid.
Morningside College received the host bid for the 2017 NAIA Volleyball National Championship slated for Nov. 28 to Dec. 2 at Sioux City’s Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena.
The Mustangs are in the national tournament field for the second year in a row and will make their sixth national tourney appearance since 2008.
Morningside has an 18-12 record and finished fifth in this year’s Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) standings with a 10-6 league record. Eleven of the Mustangs’ 12 defeats this season came against nationally ranked opponents.
The Mustangs will compete in NAIA Volleyball National Championship pool play from Nov. 28-30, from which the top two teams in each pool will advance to the elimination bracket on Dec. 1 and 2.
