Morningside was tabbed the favorite to win the GPAC women’s basketball title by the league’s head coaches.
Morningside is the pre-season favorite to reign in the GPAC according to the GPAC Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Pre-Season Poll.
Morningside received 97points and seven of the 11 first place votes from the league’s head coaches.
The Mustangs return 13 letter winners including three starters, from a team that finished with a 29-7 record and was one of four teams to share the GPAC regular season championship with a 16-4 league mark. The Mustangs posted their 11 consecutive 20-win season and qualified for the NAIA Division II National Tournament for the 12th year in a row.
Morningside will open the 2014-15 campaign with an 8 p.m. home game against AIB College of Business on Thursday, Oct. 30.
