Morningside’s bowling team made one of its strongest showings of the season with a fourth place finish at the Hastings College Bronco Open held Feb. 1 and 2 in Hastings, Neb.

The tournament consisted of six individual games and 16 Baker games.

Midland University won the tournament with a total of 9241 pins, followed by Newman University, 8885; Hastings, 7963; Morningside, 7907; Colorado School of Mines, 7741; and Graceland University, 7089.

The Mustangs were in third place with a 52-pin cushion over Hastings going into the final Baker game.

Mike Ward knocked down 1059 pins to lead the Mustangs in the individual standings. Ward finished 11th, while Jesse Nissen was only two pins back with a 1057 for 12th place. Austin Naylor finished 13th with 1049 pins.

The Mustangs will compete in the GPAC Invitational on March 1 and 2 in Fremont, Neb.
