Ten members from Morningside’s track & field team were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Ten members of the Morningside track & field team were named 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The Mustangs’ Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes are:

Elizabeth Bohlmann, a junior sprinter-long jumper from Sioux City who has a 3.67 cumulative grade point average with a major in elementary education.

Holly Brock, a junior shot put thrower from Dunlap, Iowa, who has a 3.86 cumulative GPA with majors in elementary education and special education.

Alec DeVries, a junior from Merrill, Iowa, who has a 3.62 cumulative GPA with a major in history.

James Farnan, a junior sprinter from Bellevue, Neb., who has a 3.97 cumulative GPA with majors in political science and American history.

Jacob Green, a junior middle distance runner from Sioux Falls, S.D., who has a 3.86 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Kyle Hiser, a senior distance runner from Shenandoah, Iowa who has a 3.63 cumulative GPA with a major in biology.

Jason Kenny, a junior distance runner from Schaller, Iowa, who has a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA with a major in applied agricultural and food studies.

Jaden Lux, a junior distance runner from Cherokee, Iowa, who has a 3.92 cumulative GPA with a major in mass communication.

Kate Mathes, a senior outfielder from Cherokee, Iowa, who has a 3.89 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Tiffany Shepherd, a senior distance runner from Corning, Iowa, who has a 3.76 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.

Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
