SIOUX CITY, IOWA – A balanced offensive attack and second consecutive defensive clean sheet lifted Morningside College to a home Great Plains Athletic Conference win Thursday, Oct. 18.

Senior Tristan Beaulieu (Sioux City, Iowa) and freshman Maleah Richter (Rapid City, S.D.) combined on the shutout in net. Beaulieu, running her current scoreless minutes string to better than 190 minutes, kept a lock on the Mustangs’ goal for the first 72 minutes and then Richter came in to finish off the final 18. Head coach Tom Maxon’s offense was led by senior midfielder Chloe Wetzbarger’s three-point evening at Elwood Olsen Stadium, as she posted the eventual game-winner in the 13th minute and then assisted the Maroon and White’s second goal 12 minutes later, as MC, edging past Dordt College for sixth on the GPAC standings, rolled past College of Saint Mary 4-0.

Morningside College visits Northwestern College Saturday, Oct. 20. Game time at NWC Soccer Complex is 5 p.m.
