Morningside swimming coach Bryan Farris announced the names of 15 athletes who will join the Mustangs for the 2015-16 season.

Morningside College men’s and women’s head swimming coach Bryan Farris has announced the Mustangs’ recruiting class. The recruits include 10 female and five male swimmers.

The women’s recruits are:

Allison Agee of South Sioux City, Neb. Agee is a 2015 graduate of South Sioux City High School who will compete in the breaststroke and freestyle events.

Alex Castillo of Storm Lake, Iowa. Castillo is a 2015 graduate of Storm Lake High School who will compete in the distance freestyle events.

Jessica Ceja of Santa Ana, Calif. Ceja is a 2014 graduate of Santa Ana High School who will compete in the distance freestyle events.

Taylor Hirschman of Cherokee, Iowa. Hirschman is a 2015 graduate of Cherokee Washington High School and will compete in the sprint freestyle events.

Carly Johnson of Kansas City, Kan. Johnson is a 2015 graduate of Kansas City Piper High School who will compete in the butterfly and individual medley. Johnson placed 12th in the girl’s 200-yard individual medley at this past season’s state meet. She was a state qualifier in the 100-yard butterfly.

Veronica Mullen of Omaha, Neb. Mullen is a 2015 graduate of Omaha Central High School. Mullen will compete in the back stroke and freestyle events.

Beth Reeves of Aurora, Colo. Reeves is a 2015 graduate of Gateway High School who will compete in the sprint freestyle events. She was Gateway’s top competitor in the 100 and 200-yard freestyles this past season.

Krystal Samqua of Salem, Neb. Samqua is a 2015 graduate of Falls City High School who will compete in the backstroke and butterfly events.

Allie Vanek of Lincoln, Neb. Vanek is a 2015 graduate of Lincoln Southwest High School who will compete in the butterfly and freestyle events.

Alisia Woodward of Waterloo, Iowa. Woodward is a 2015 graduate of Waterloo West High School who will compete in the distance freestyle events. She was Waterloo West’s leader in the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, and 100-yard breaststroke this past season.

The men’s recruits are:

Jackson Allen of Fort Collins, Colo. Allen is a 2015 graduate of Rocky Mountain High School who will compete in the breaststroke and individual medley. Allen was the Lobos’ leader in the 100-yard breaststroke this past season.

Tim Cohoon of Buffalo, Wyo. Cohoon is a 2015 graduate of Buffalo High School who will compete in the butterfly and freestyle events. Cohoon finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.66 seconds and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.11 at Wyoming’s Class 3A state meet.

Lucas Farrington of Rockwell City, Iowa. Farrington is a 2015 graduate of South Central Calhoun High School who will compete in the backstroke and free style events. Farrington competed for Carroll High School and was the team’s top performer in the 500-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard butterfly, and 200-yard individual medley this past season.

George Weiss of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Weiss is a 2015 graduate of Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School who will compete in the freestyle and breaststroke events. Weiss was the top performer in the 100-yard breaststroke for Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln/Thomas Jefferson last season.

Zack Zule of Leavenworth, Kan. Zule is a 2015 graduate of Lansing High School who will compete in the butterfly and freestyle events. He was a state qualifier in the 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle this past season.
