Morningside College head golf coach Todd Sapp announced the names of three recruits who will join the Mustangs’ men’s team in 2015-16.

Morningside College head golf coach Todd Sapp announced the names of three recruits who will join the Mustangs for the 2015-16 season.

The recruits are:

Cody Holck of Ankeny, Iowa. Holck is a senior at Ankeny Centennial High School, where he helped lead the team to a sixth place finish at this fall’s state tournament. He was Ankeny Centennial’s second leading scorer at the state tourney with rounds of 85 and 75 for a 160. Holck led the team with a 77 when they finished third at their district tournament held at Waveland Golf Course. Holck finished the season with an 18-hole scoring average of 76.2 with a low score of 70.

He averaged 77.7 as a junior with a low round of 70.

Dominic Johnson of Pocahontas, Iowa. Johnson is a senior at Pocahontas Area High School, where he has been a medalist 10 times and a runner-up medalist seven times during his prep career. Johnson had a 41.1-stroke scoring average per nine holes with a low score of 36 in his 2014 junior season. He finished ninth at the Twin Lakes Conference meet to make the all-conference team.

Johnson had a 41.2-stroke scoring average with a low score of 37 as a sophomore.

Ben Peterson of Saint Anthony, Minn. Peterson is a senior at Saint Anthony High School, where he will be a six-year letterwinner in golf. He has been a medalist 10 times during his prep career. He had a low score of one-under par 34 for a nine-hole competition and a low 18-hole score of three-under par 68 at his sectional tourney.

Peterson has played in the Minnesota Junior PGA for the past three summers. He owns one tournament victory and several second and third place finishes.
