Morgan Gourley, a 5-4 defensive specialist from Stanhope, Iowa, will enroll at Morningside College this fall and compete for the Mustangs’ women’s volleyball team announced Morningside head coach Sara Horn.

Gourley is a senior at Webster City High School, where she was a four-year starter and helped lead the team to a pair of North Central Conference (NCC) championships during her career.

She earned first-team All-NCC honors this past season after she led the Lynx with 378 digs for an average of 3.98 digs per set. Gourley also had 160 kills for an average of 1.68 per set and completed 306 of 318 serve attempts for 95.9 percent with 23 aces.

Gourley received second-team all-conference honors as a junior and sophomore.

As a junior, Gourley led Webster City with 353 digs for an average of 3.72 per set. She had 113 kills for an average of 1.19 per set and completed 278 of 292 serve attempts for 95.2 percent with 21 aces.

Gourley slammed a career-high 178 kills for an average of 2.09 per game and led the Lynx with 47 ace serves during her sophomore campaign. She had 253 assists and 179 digs for averages of 2.98 assists and 2.11 digs per set and completed 275 of 292 serve attempts for 94.2 percent.
