Morningside’s women’s golf team finished sixth at Monday’s GPAC Qualifier #2 in Hastings, Neb.

Morningside’s women’s golf team finished sixth at GPAC Qualifier #2 held at Southern Hills Golf Course in Hastings, Neb.

The Mustangs carded a score of 353 to finish five strokes out of fifth place behind Concordia.

Mount Marty won the team title with a 332 and overtook the Mustangs, who won GPAC Qualifier #1, atop the combined scoring. The Lancers have a total of 678 for a two-stroke cushion over Nebraska Wesleyan and reigning GPAC champion Dakota Wesleyan. Morningside is in fourth place with a 695.

Alexandria Mankle had the Mustangs’ top individual score in GPAC Qualifier #2 with an 84. The Mustangs also counted an 87 from Cheyanne Becker, an 89 from Myla Brown, and 93s from Elizabeth Thies and Mikaela Livengood.

Mankle leads the Mustangs with a 169 for seventh place in the individual standings after the first two GPAC Qualifiers. Brown and Becker are tied for 12th at 172.

The last two GPAC Qualifier tournaments will be held in the spring.
