Morningside finished second in the 2017-18 GPAC All-Sports Trophy standings.

Morningside finished second in the race for the 2017-18 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) All-Sports Trophy according to the final point standings announced by the league office.

Morningside finished with a total of 164 points to finish 4.5 points out of first place behind Northwestern. 

The Mustangs finished second in the league with 77 points in the men’s sports and third with 87 points in the women’s sports.

Morningside won regular season GPAC championships this past year in football, men’s basketball, women’s golf and softball.  

The Mustangs have won the all-sports trophy seven times in the last 12 years. Morningside captured the GPAC All-Sports Trophy in 2006-07, 2007-08, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2015-16 and 2016-17 and was the runner-up in 2008-09 and 2017-18.
