Morningside is ranked 17th in the nation in the NAIA Softball Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll.
Morningside is ranked 17th in the nation in the 2017 NAIA Softball Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll released on June 7.
The Mustangs, who were ranked 10th in the final regular season poll, posted a 40-12 record during the 2017 season and won the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) championship with a 17-3 league mark for a three-game victory margin over runner-ups Hastings College and Concordia University (14-6). The Mustangs competed in the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round Sioux City Bracket for their eighth national tournament appearance in the last nine years.
Morningside is the only team from the GPAC ranked in the NAIA Postseason Top 25.
