Morningside finished the women’s golf season with a runner-up finish at GPAC Qualifier #4.

Morningside’s women’s golf team made one of its best showings of the 2014-15 season with a runner-up performance at GPAC Qualifier #4 held April 24 at Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City, Iowa.

The Mustangs carded a team score of 341 to finish only six strokes off the pace of team champion Dakota Wesleyan.

Caitlin Fieselman was the Mustangs’ individual leader with a 79 to share runner-up medalist honors with Dakota Wesleyan’s Lauren Fitts. Emma Wynia of host Northwestern took top honors with a 77.

The Mustangs also had a top 10 finish from Nathalie Sanchez, who carded an 84 to finish in a tie for sixth place.

The 79 by Fieselman and the 84 by Sanchez were their top scores of the spring season.

The Mustangs completed their team score with an 88 from Callie Anderson and a 90 from Jeicy Rivas Plata.

Morningside finished sixth in the combined GPAC Qualifier standings with a four tournament total of 1439 strokes to finish 153 strokes out of fifth place behind Concordia

Fieselman was the Mustangs’ top finisher in the individual standings with a four-tournament total of 347 strokes for 11th place. Anderson also finished in the top 20 with 358 strokes for 16th place.

GPAC Qualifier #4 was the Mustangs last tournament of the 2014-15 season.
