Morningside made its debut in the NAIA volleyball national rankings at No. 24 in the NAIA Post-Season Top 25 Poll.

Morningside College is ranked 24th in the nation in the Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches Post-Season NAIA Volleyball Top 25 Poll released on Dec. 7.

The Mustangs were one of the most improved teams in the nation this past season following an 8-20 finish in 2015. Morningside posted a 20-15 record and returned to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship tournament for the first time since 2012. Morningside had its most impressive victory of the season at the national tourney when it upset seventh-ranked Park University 3-2 on the opening day of pool play. Park moved up to No. 4 in the final NAIA Post-Season Top 25.

Morningside is one of five teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in the NAIA Post-Season top 25. Aside from Morningside, NAIA National Champion Hastings College is ranked first, Dordt College is second, Midland University is third and Doane University is 12th.
