Morningside’s cheer team finished less than one point out of first place at the Midland Invitational.
Morningside’s cheer team opened its competition season with a second place finish at Thursday’s Midland Invitational in Fremont, Neb.
The Mustangs had a team score of 72.63 to finish less than one point out of first place.
Concordia University of Ann Arbor, Michigan, won the four-team competition with 73.55 points, followed by Morningside, 72.63; Midland, 65.92; and Doane, 60.95.
Morningside will compete in Sunday’s Grand View Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa.
