Morningside College women’s cross-country team was voted into the #19 slot in the Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll.
With 216 final points, the Mustang harriers were able to make the climb to spot 19 with only one other team from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) making the list, Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Morningside women will have returning standouts Cassie Warner, a senior from Council Bluffs, Iowa and Megan Maaske, a senior from Woodbine, Iowa. The Mustangs are adding six freshmen to the roster this season as well as returning five sophomores, two juniors and three seniors.
The Mustang harriers will open the 2018 campaign at Friday’s Augustana Twilight meet in Sioux Falls, S.D.
