Sioux City, IA – Morningside University is taking a significant step forward in enhancing campus safety and emergency response capabilities, thanks to a generous $23,484 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation®. This funding will enable the university to purchase new emergency AED kits, ensuring that life-saving equipment is readily available across campus.

The addition of these AED kits will bolster Morningside University’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing critical support to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. By equipping the campus with state-of-the-art emergency tools, the university is reinforcing its commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for the entire Morningside community.

“We are deeply grateful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs® restaurant in Sioux City for their incredible support,” said Brett Lyon, Director of Safety and Security at Morningside University. “This grant ensures that we have reliable, up-to-date equipment to protect lives and respond to emergencies with confidence. It’s a vital investment in the well-being of our campus community.”
