Sioux City, IA – Morningside College faculty members Shannon Claxton, assistant professor of psychology, and Jessica LaPaglia, associate professor of psychology, presented their research at the Society for the Teaching of Psychology’s Annual Conference on Teaching on October 18 in Denver, Colo.

Claxton won third place for her poster titled “Group Work that Students Love? Transforming Statistics Using Team-Based Learning,” and LaPaglia earned first place for her poster titled “Escape the Evil Professor! An Escape Room Review Activity.” Both projects highlighted the experiential learning that Claxton and LaPaglia incorporate into their classes.

The Society for the Teaching of Psychology is a division of the American Psychological Association that promotes effective pedagogy and support for psychology teachers. The Annual Conference features keynote speakers, presentations, and demonstrations of best practices in teaching.
