The Morningside women’s soccer team stomped the University of Saint Mary on Saturday, Sept. 15. The Spires traveled to Sioux City, Iowa with a 0-4 record. The first half brought a goal by senior Merle Bublitz, assisted by Paytn Harmon. The second half kept Morningside on top with another goal by sophomore Melody Culbertson to finish the game with a final score of 2-0.

The Morningside men’s soccer team was an aggressive game that resulted in a win with a score of 2-1. The Spires hold a 2-2 record while the Morningside men have an overall record of 2-2-1. The first half ended with Morningside ahead, 1-0 with a goal from freshman Moritz Lusch, assisted by Ryder Gary. Sophomore Julius Fassbinder got another goal for the Mustangs 53 minutes into the game with a penalty kick. University of Saint Mary’s senior Rodney Smith, assisted by junior Kevin Garcia got the lone goal for the Spires but it wasn’t enough to beat the Mustangs who finished their game, 2-1.
