Morningside Women’s Cross Country Team Wins Viking Invitational.
(Sioux City, Iowa) Morningside College’s men’s and women’s cross-country teams competed at the 14th Grand View Viking Invitational on Sept. 14 in Southeast Polk, Iowa.
The Morningside women’s team placed first out of five teams with an average time of 20:58.0. Alison Higgins, a senior who was recently named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross-Country Runner-of-the-Week, achieved a time of 20:20.1 and placed third out of fifty-four runners.
The men’s cross-country team placed second out of five teams. Their average time was 29:04.3. Connor Ritz, a sophomore, lead the Mustang men with a time of 28:00.6, placing second out of fifty-two runners.
The teams will next compete at the Doane Dean White Invititational at 10:00 AM on Sept. 22 in Crete, Nebraska.
