Morningside College to present program on how to get into farming
Morningside College will present a program on “Understanding Farm Business Transfer: How Do I Get into Farming?” at 7 p.m. Monday, April 3, in Weikert Auditorium in Buhler Rohlfs Hall.
Morningside College will present a program on “Understanding Farm Business Transfer: How Do I Get into Farming?” at 7 p.m. Monday, April 3, in Weikert Auditorium in Buhler Rohlfs Hall, 1701 Morningside Ave.
Guest speaker David Baker will engage local farmers, agribusiness professionals and Morningside students with strategies for farm transition between generations, and he will provide information for those who desire to farm but do not have access to land. Baker will share his own story of entering into farming after military service with no access to family land or resources.
Baker is a farm transition specialist at the Beginning Farmer Center. The Beginning Farmer Center is a part of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Regina Roth Applied Agricultural and Food Studies Program at Morningside College and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach—Woodbury County.
