SIOUX CITY, IA – Morningside College will host festivities in celebration of its 125th Anniversary during Homecoming Weekend from Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22.

On Friday, Sept. 20, the college will be hosting a 125th Celebration Event in and around Eppley auditorium. The event will run from 7-11 p.m. and will feature a short historical review, food, music, and more. The event is free, but it is requested that anyone who plans to attend sign up by Monday, Sept. 2, to assist event organizers. Those who sign up in advance and attend the event will also receive a commemorative 125th anniversary gift.

Following the football game on Saturday, Sept. 21, Morningside will host a 125th Anniversary Community Block Party at the Mason Family Tennis Complex. This event will take the place of Morningside’s traditional Taste of Morningside event and will offer a meal, family activities, and 125th anniversary birthday cake. Entrance to the event is free. Meal tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

“Our first 125 years have given us much to celebrate,” said Morningside College President John Reynders. “We are so proud of our history, being part of the Sioux City community, and the remarkable achievements of the students, alumni, faculty, and staff who have made this place what it is. I look forward to gathering with all those whose lives have been enriched by Morningside College to reflect on times gone by, as well as all the great things still to come.”

The weekend will also include many other activities, including a football game, choral concert, volleyball match, soccer, campus tours, and more. You can see the full schedule of events or get signed up by visiting morningside.edu/homecoming.
